A new generation of smartphones, tablet computers, 3D products and hi-tech gadgets are arriving smaller and thinner but with more exciting functions and multitasking features. USA next-generation netbook will have a rotating screen. Mobile internet devices are expected to become a growth engine for consumer electronics globally. Samsung N110 netbook hits retail, doesn't come cheap

Samsung's N110 netbook, unveiled last week as the successor to the popular NC10, is now available to pre-order in the U.S. at a cost of around $450 (£318). The system, pictured above, sports a six-cell battery that claims to offer over nine hours of on-the-go operation. However, despite the useful estimated mileage on a single charge, the system features the age-old combination of a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor and 945GSE chipset. Lenovo IdeaPad S205: A more stylish netbook

PC World - If you sometimes have difficulty sorting out Lenovo's ultraportable and netbook options, that's not surprising. take the IdeaPad S205: on paper, it doesn't appear too different from the line-straddling ThinkPad X120e. both sport 11.6-in., 1366 x 768-resolution LED-backlit displays and integrated webcams, and both are configured with the AMD Fusion E-350 CPU running at 1.6GHz and 4GB of SDRAM.
